Design of the camera
The camera's body has been updated from its predecessor. The A7 IV features a fast and clear electronic viewfinder of 3.69 million dots. In addition, the LCD screen has been updated. The screen is now adjustable and tiltable and features touch screen. Stability and comfort is very important when shooting and filming, which is why the camera features image stabilization in the body over 5 axes.
The menu of the A7 mark IV has been updated compared to its predecessor. You can operate the menu by means of touchscreen, there is a fine dial to switch between photo/video/S&Q mode and you can store two memory cards in the body. All these new features allow you to focus even more on creating!
Filming with the A7 IV

As an experienced image maker, you can also choose to shoot in 10-bit 4:2:2 and take advantage of S-CINETONE/S-LOG 3 image profiles. This ensures that you come home with cinema-worthy images and can easily edit them. You can save your own settings in the menu, for example the exposure triangle. But also the settings of the image profiles in which you film.
Again, you have the fast real-time autofocus for tracking moving subjects or the eyes of the subject. People or animals, it doesn't matter. The A7 IV features unique video tools, such as focus compensation, digital audio interface for connecting professional audio microphones and a heat dissipation structure. The latter feature is ideal when you have regular long shooting sessions.
Sony has made many strides in terms of ease of use with this full frame camera, so too for videographers. Thanks to the new body, you now have the record button on top of the body. This ensures that you can easily start or stop your recordings. This button is located where your thumb is.

The Sony FE 50mm f/1.4 GM lens offers advanced lens technology and is designed with refined elements and advanced optics for uncompromising image quality for both still and video photographers. Part of Sony's esteemed G Master lens family, this versatile regular-length prime lens offers a natural field of view so you can capture memorable images for a lifetime. This lens is an excellent choice for everyday use. It features a fast and accurate autofocus system in a lightweight, compact design. As a result, you can easily take the lens anywhere.
Two XA (extreme aspherical) elements minimize aberrations and distortions. At the same time, these elements offer excellent resolution and sharpness. The lens has an ED (extra-low dispersion) glass element that eliminates chromatic aberration and color fringing for high levels of clarity and accuracy. A Nano AR coating is applied to specific elements that greatly reduces reflected light to reduce ghosting and flare for greater contrast and color accuracy in strong lighting conditions.
The bright maximum aperture of f/1.4 gives a very shallow depth of field for pleasing background blur when using selective focusing techniques. The round aperture with 11 blades is ideal for portraits and provides deep and dreamy bokeh. Two XD linear motors take full advantage of Sony camera bodies, providing fast, quiet and accurate autofocus and subject tracking. An AF/MF switch on the lens barrel provides tactical control of settings. The internal focusing design provides better focusing performance and maintains a consistent overall lens length during use.
In addition, this Sony prime lens features an iris lock switch that prevents accidental movement of the aperture ring. This switch can also be unlocked to allow the aperture ring to rotate seamlessly and silently. For video applications, an easy-to-read aperture ring with f-stop engraving can be quickly released on the lens barrel for smooth and quiet aperture control. Two focus knobs are located on the body for intuitive operation and quick access to selected settings. A manual focus ring with linear response provides fine linear focusing.
Despite its large maximum aperture, complex optical design and the presence of a powerful AF system, this lens weighs only 516 grams. The lens is therefore designed for everyday use under difficult conditions and has a dust- and moisture-resistant construction. All seams are sealed, buttons and switches have rubber gaskets, and a rubber ring seals the lens mount. The fluorine coating on the front element repels water, oil, fingerprints and dirt and makes the lens easy to clean.
