ELB 500 TTL
The Elinchrom ELB 500 TTL Dual To Go Kit has been created by lighting manufacturer Elinchrom for photographers who need a compact shape, lightweight and excellent performance, supported by the ease of TTL exposure control. The set includes a 500Ws ELB500 TTL pack with a lithium-ion battery, charger and sync cord. Two ELB 500 flash heads with 8-inch cables, a 7-inch Q-reflector, a wide reflector, a Snappy carrying bag with shoulder strap and a sturdy, nylon ProTec Location bag with protective rain cover are also included.
Elinchrom enters the TTL arena with the introduction of the ELB 500 TTL package. With dimensions of 16.3 x 18.1 x 9 cm and a weight of only 2.5 kg with its battery, the ELB 500 is ideal for traveling photographers or photographers on location who photograph, fashion or portraits. By using an optional Elinchrom Skyport Pro or the Phottix Odin II transmitter, the ELB 500 TTL significantly reduces setup delays, shortens the time between inspiration and performance by using your camera's flash exposure system. With asymmetrical force distribution over 7 stops to 2 ELB flash heads, photographers can perform TTL power adjustments at distances of 100 to 200 meters, depending on which transmitter is used. There is also a manual lock mode that lets you get a TTL first exposure lock and then switch to manual mode to fine-tune the exposure.
Although the ELB 500 TTL has a yield of about 10 times the power of a speedlite, it has features that you can only find on an advanced on-camera flash. For example, the package is compatible with High Speed Sync, allowing you to activate it with a shutter speed of only 1/8000 sec to control the brightness of the background, the freeze action, or large lens apertures.
These advanced lighting features are supported by decent performance. Recycling is a very fast 0.05 to 2 seconds and the flash duration is 1/3400 seconds in normal mode. There is also an action mode with flash durations that is as fast as a super fast speed of 1/20,000 sec - ideal for freezing water spray, splashes and other effects.
The ELB 500 is powered by a lithium-ion battery that flashes 400 full-power flashes and delivers an impressive 28,000 flashes at minimum power on a full charge. Features include Active Charging, which allows you to charge the battery through the power outlet while shooting for an uninterrupted workflow. Power, performance and TTL lighting control make the ELB 500 TTL hard to beat.
