The Irix Cine Lens 45 mm T1.5 for Sony E is a mid-range focal length lens. This lens consists of 11 elements in 9 groups, including 4 high refraction elements, one extra-low dispersion lens and one aspherical lens. This ensures crisp details, vivid colors and very low distortion under 0.5%.

The housing of this lens is specially made for video with an all weather seal with a fixed rear lens element. This prevents the lens on the back from being barrel bar for dust.

The values and settings can be read on the side because a filmmaker often works in a team. This makes it easy to look at. The diaphragm ring has a stroke of 75 degrees and consists of 9 aperture blades. The focus ring has a throw of 180 degrees and is equipped with industry standard .8 pitch gears for a follow focus. The adaptive ring can be rotated to give your follow focus more space - this works especially well with electronic flow focus systems.

The lens has a standard 95 mm mount for a Mattebox and has an 86 mm thread for filters on the front. The brightness of T1.5 stands for transmission; the actual amount of light that falls on the sensor. An F stop refers to the opening of your aperture.

The cine version is made for Canon, Sony E, MFT and PL Mount and covers a Large Format sensor. It easily covers the sensor of an EOS R but also a RED Monstro or Sony Venice. You can also use it on an MFT or Super-35 sensor with a 2x or 1.6x crop.
