Panasonic

{{serverState.parameters.subproducttaggroup_description}}

Panasonic may be a very old name in electronics (1918, Matsushita), with regard to photography it is still a particularly young brand. For instance in about 2001, in a period when it was thought that with super-fast and expensive digital developments, less and less camera manufacturers would remain, it was precisely then that Panasonic made its entrance. And with tremendous success!

Large name in video and image

As well as a limited history in photography, Panasonic has already had a good name in the area of video for years. Sound systems, image screens and projectors are other products which everyone will know about from Panasonic. From the manufacture in 1985 of the first VHS camcorders to photography in the digital era, looking back it appears as a step which could have been overseen, but by choosing quickly for a deviating concept and format a great many obstacles had to be overcome.

    Collaboration with well-known names

    An excellent partner for a completely new format of sensor was found in Olympus. The Japanese electronics giant found another collaboration which functioned well both with regard to quality and marketing in Leica. With high-quality compact cameras which were equipped with a Leica lens, Panasonic worked hard on its name recognition and reliable sales outlets.

    Successful mirrorless cameras & lenses

    Looking back at the route taken up until now by Panasonic in photography, this Japanese all-round supplier in audio-visual products and electronics grew in a surprisingly short time into a leading player in the very specialised photo market. In recent years, the distinctive success models such as the Lumix DMC TZ100, FZ2000 to GH5 resulted in an excellent name: comforable cameras with top lenses and a good mix of photo and video properties.

    4K Ultra HD quality

    With the development of the Lumix DMC FZ-1000 bridge camera and the Lumix GH5 mirrorless camera, both with fabulous 4K video quality, Panasonic offers in any case cast-iron primeurs. Because by offering the users own product possiblities with 4K capacity, these cameras fit perfectly with the sublime quality 4K screens of the new generation of home theatres.
